Amazon is launching a new tool called Alexa Game Control that is designed to allow gamers to use natural language voice commands in video games.

  The first game to feature this technology will be the zombie-filled Dead Island 2

 which was revealed during Gamescom's Night Live opening event.

 With the Alexa game controller, Amazon says you'll be able to do things like interact with NPCs and change weapons just by using your voice

 You don't need to wake up with words like "Alexa" or even have one of Amazon's Echo devices,

 and the company says that the feature will work with "any connected speaker or headset. on a PC or is their console"

  However, you will be able to use Alexa features like controlling smart home devices and ordering food.

 You'll be able to use Alexa's game controls only when connected to the Internet,

 but it's optional and not required to play the game offline, Amazon spokesperson Michael Poulter confirmed to The Verge

 And while you don't need an Amazon Prime subscription to use Alexa voice control, you will need to have an Amazon account.
